Kings of V/STOL:- RAF Harriers

Hawker Siddeley Harrier Gr.1 XV785 / Q. 20 (R) Squadron, June 1971. (Airfix 1/72 A03003), Shortly after 785 was upgraded to GR3 standard. however On 26th Mar 1974 at RAF Wildenrath while with 4 Sqn RAFG she and her pilot (F/L A.R Bloxham) were tragically lost.

Hawker Siddeley Harrier GR.3 XZ988 / 34, 1(F)Squadron RAF - HMS Hermes, South Atlantic 1982, (Italeri 1/72 #1278) Shot down by Argentinian AA fire. Goose Green, 27th May '82 while flying from HMS Hermes, Pilot ejected safely, although injured, evaded capture and picked up by RN Helicopter 2 days later

Hawker Siddeley Harrier GR.3 XZ133 10 1(f) Sqn RAF - HMS Hermes, South Atlantic 1982 (Airfix A04055) Falklands veteran is currently suspended in ‘AirSpace’ at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford Airfield, Cambridgeshire

BAe Harrier Gr.5 ZD329 / AI 1 Squadron RAF Wittering 1988 (Airfix 1/72 A04038) At some point '329' was upgraded to GR.9A standard, She then spent a little time with the Royal Navy before being transferred to the USMC in 2012 where she has been in storage ever since? 

BAe Harrier GR.7 ZD408 / 37, 20 (r) Squadron RAF, Kuwait 2003. (Airfix 1/72 A82010-SD) upgraded to GR7a standard '408' crashed 16th June 2008 in a field near to the village of Ashwell, Rutland (the pilot ejected safely) accident was caused by lack of engine oil due to "filler cap not being secured"

BAe Harrier GR9a ZD433 / 45a Royal Navy 800 Squadron JHSF(Kandahar, Afghanistan 2009) (Airfix 1/72  A04050) Preserved in war weary condition at RNAS/M Yeovilton nicknamed "Dirty Harry"
