Acquired by Vickers in 1928, it became Supermarine Aviation Works (Vickers) Ltd. The company’s innovations included naval Seafires and early jets before merging fully into Vickers by the 1960s

K9794 as struck off charge in Aug 39 with only 36.35hrs total time when her undercarriage struck a fence on an overshoot and subsequently collapsed on landing at RAF Digby, Lincolnshire.

P9386 was lost on 5 May 1944 2.5km from Cockburnspath. S/L Lane was is last seen chasing 2 FW190s in a Mk Vb 13th Dec 42
Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIa P8088/NK-K 118 Squadron RAF, Ivesley, May 1941, Airfix 1/72 (A02010), Later in the war while assigned to 61 OTU, P8088 crashed Between Prees Green and Fauls, Shropshire, sadly her pilot F/S John C. Barry RAAF - was killed. It was suggested the most likely cause was probably loss of consciousness due to a failure of the oxygen system
